Barcelona coach Rijkaard warns Gudjohnsen over playing time

Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has told Eidur Gudjohnsen he has little chance of playing this season. AS says Gudjohnsen, who rejected several offers from England over the summer, has held talks with Rijkaard, where he was informed that teenage pair Giovani dos Santos and Bojan Krkic were considered ahead of him in the striker’s pecking order.

Only Santi Ezquerro, who saw a move to Athletic Bilbao fall through on transfer deadline day, is further down the list than Iceland international Gudjohnsen.
